PRIVACY NOTICE

EGI International, as part of the management of its website, collects, processes and stores personal data in its capacity as Data Controller. The applicable personal data collected refers to visitors to the website.

Personal data will be processed for the following purposes and on the following legal grounds:

  1. Analysing the questions and contacts made by users of the website, based on our legitimate interest in responding to their questions and requests for contact, as well as pre-contractual or contractual steps, at the request of the data subject;
  2. Analysing requests to schedule a visit made by users of the website, based on our legitimate interest in scheduling such a visit, as well as pre-contractual or contractual steps at the request of the data subject;
  3. Placing potential customers on a waiting list to register with EGI, on the legal basis of pre-contractual procedures at the request of the data subject and our legitimate interest in responding to customer requests;
  4. Analysing and responding to communications made via the website and email, based on the execution of a contract to which the data subject is a party, as well as our legitimate interest in interacting with EGI's Parents and Guardians;
  5. Processing of essential cookies in order to allow our website to function, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest;
  6. Processing of applications for job vacancies at EGI, as well as spontaneous applications made by the website user, on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in analysing your application, as well as pre-contractual or contractual steps, at the request of the data subject.

In the event that you are not accepted for the position you applied for (in the case of a specific application) or for spontaneous applications, we may store your personal application data in our database for a period of 2 years, with a view to finding you an opportunity at EGI. We will only do this if you have given us your consent.

If you do not want us to store your personal data, you can object by sending us an email.

The data subject has the following rights in relation to the processing of personal data:

  • Access: They can obtain information about whether we are processing their personal data, as well as consult their personal data;
  • Rectification: You can change your personal data when it is incorrect, as well as complete incomplete data;
  • Erasure: You can request the erasure of your personal data when, among other reasons, the personal data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected;
  • Objection: In certain situations, you may request that your personal data no longer be processed. We will stop processing your personal data, except where there are legitimate grounds or for the establishment, exercise or defence of rights in an administrative, judicial or out-of-court procedure;
  • Restriction of processing: You may request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in the following situations: (a) during the contestation of the accuracy of your personal data, (b) when the processing is lawful and you have objected to it and requested the limitation of the use of personal data, (c) when we no longer need to process personal data, but we need it for the exercise or defence of rights in an administrative, judicial or extrajudicial proceeding; (d) when you have objected to the processing of your personal data for the fulfilment of an obligation of public interest or for the satisfaction of a legitimate interest, as long as it is verified that these legitimate reasons for the processing prevail over your reasons;
  • Portability: In certain situations, you will have the right to receive, in a structured, commonly used and automatically readable format, the personal data you have provided us with and those obtained from your relationship with us, as well as to transmit them to another entity.

For any questions or to exercise these rights, an email should be sent to dataprotection@egi-education.com. To exercise your rights, if necessary, we may ask you to send a document proving your identity. You must also indicate the right you wish to exercise. The exercise of rights is free of charge, except in the case of a manifestly unfounded, excessive or repeated request.

You can obtain information from the competent supervisory authority (National Data Protection Commission) at www.cnpd.pt.

Your personal data will be kept for the period strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected or for the period strictly necessary to comply with any legal obligation.

We may communicate your personal data that is being processed to third parties for the purposes of complying with legal obligations that are applicable in each case or in cases where this proves necessary for the provision of the services to be contracted.

Whenever data processing is carried out through external service providers, who act as subcontractors, we follow strict criteria when selecting service providers in order to fulfil their data protection obligations.
